Putting Women Entrepreneurs First

Happy International Women's Day!

Today, we celebrate the accomplishments of women around the world, their contributions to society, and their impact on the economy. In light of this special commemoration, here’s some exciting news that aligns perfectly with the spirit of the occasion.

Republic Bank Limited, in partnership with BPD Associates Limited, is delighted to launch the second cohort of its dynamic Entrepreneurs Business Builder (EBB) Programme! Designed to support Caribbean women entrepreneurs, this four-month self-paced online learning programme provides the tools, resources, and guidance needed to build future proof, profitable and sustainable businesses.

In our minds, there is no better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than encouraging the women of our region in their entrepreneurial aspirations. These leaders uplift families, create jobs, design innovative products and services and contribute to the development of communities, countries and the Caribbean as a whole.

In this light, we at Republic Financial Holdings Limited are proud to champion this landmark initiative, under our Power to Make A Difference programme, as the EBB provides our women entrepreneurs with the power to succeed and thrive.  The Entrepreneurs Business Builder Programme is one of the many ways we put into action our commitment to the United Nations Principles of Responsible Banking and our intent to meaningfully contribute to the sustainable development of the territories in which we operate.

Our inaugural cohort included vibrant women from Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago. The feedback below is a mere snapshot of the real results:

“Before the program, my biggest challenge was marketing. The program helped me develop my marketing plan, implement digital tools and technology in my business. As a result, I have seen significant improvement in business operations and efficiency.”

Kathie Du Bois | Pop Munchies | Grenada

“The EBB programme has supported both my personal and professional growth. It helped me to identify areas that I needed to work on by providing a wide network of expertise and encouragement to commit to my overall growth as a businesswoman. “

Shanna Newton-Williams | Tydy Clean Services Inc | Barbados

“I moved from just being a small business owner to having a CEO mindset. I thought I knew about business but had no idea about the various aspects of being in business. I was shy and never liked to talk about my business and growth plans. Today, thanks to the EBB Programme, I’ve grown in confidence and my business has grown.”

Tracey Davis | Tracey’s Tempting Treats | Trinidad and Tobago

With the launch of Cohort 2, Republic Bank and BPD Associates Limited are looking forward to supporting the next cache of women entrepreneurs to achieve success.

If you’re a woman entrepreneur who is passionate about growth, and just need that little push, the EBB programme may be the experience for you. This International Women’s Day can be decision day.
