The competition is open to emerging artists 18 years old and over, residing in one of Republic Bank’s operating territories – Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Suriname and Ghana.
For the purpose of this competition, an emerging artist is defined as one who is:
In possession of an art degree or self-taught
Still striving to produce works to be recognized by art dealers, organizations, art galleries and other public facing mediums
The beneficiary of only limited exposure through exhibition in their country of origin/residence or have never been exhibited at all
Competition period: February 1 – March 31, 2022.

We will display the selected artwork in our print and digital advertising, including outdoors, so we are looking for strong, vibrant colours.
All artwork must be your own.
All artwork submissions must be digital. Your original artwork can be physical, but you will need to digitize it and submit the digital copy to us as your entry. The size and format for all pieces must be:
If you would like, you can document your experience and process while creating your artwork and submit it with your application for inclusion in a documentary on this competition. Documentation can be videos and/or photos, at the following specs:
Photo specs: nothing less than 1080px on the long edge of the photo
Video specs: nothing less than 720p
Grand Prize winners shall receive the equivalent of US$2,000 in their residing country’s currency.
The People’s Choice Award winner will be determined by the number of votes they receive on the official competition website, where all submissions will be available for public viewing and voting after the entry deadline of March 31, 2022 and winners for all prize categories will be announced no later than April 30th, 2022.
The prize money received by all winners shall be final and without entitlement of additional remuneration.
All winners whose original artwork was digitally created must submit their artwork in JPEG, AI, PDF, or PSD format at 300 dpi resolution. All winners whose original artwork was not digitally created must submit their artwork to Republic Bank (example a canvas painting).
The artwork of all winners shall become the property of Republic Bank and shall be used in reproductions, for an indefinite period and in varying numbers and magnitudes, at sites of our choosing, including across our territories – Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Suriname and Ghana.
Republic Bank reserves the right not to accept any artwork submitted.
Participants of this competition are not allowed to display and or share their artwork online before the announcement of the winners. This is to safeguard the integrity of the competition and to prevent unfinished artwork, artwork in progress or completed artwork for the competition from being seen by the judges before their deliberation.
